TIMESHARE VILLAS

(Villa 49) has been prepared as a show villa, containing new kitchen, new floor throughout, new fabrics, aluminium doors and windows, air conditioning, new bathroom and shower room.  We would welcome owners’ views on this villa.

There is a school of thought that the lounge furniture is somewhat outdated, and we have now refurbished (Villa 1) using a more modern design and retiled the floor throughout.  We shall seek owners views before ordering furnishing for the next 8 villas.

NIE number – National Identification Number.

It is now a requirement to obtain an NIE (identification number) if you want to sell or buy escritura timeshare week(s) and all of those escritura owners who gave WimPen a power of attorney ”to sell” must also obtain an NIE number in order that WimPen can exercise it at the appropriate time.

In order to obtain an NIE number you can apply in one of the following ways:

On you next holiday to Tenerife visit the nearest National Police Station and make an application. The relevant forms can be obtained via a number of Internet sites:

Further information regarding the NIE, which offers notes for completing the application form, can be obtained from :

www.bluecosta.co.uk

The process can take 10 days so you would have to be on island for a two-week period in order to collect it and you must also be aware that you may have to queue for a lengthy time. Cost approximately 6 euros each.

In the UK you can visit your nearest Spanish Consulate, in either London, Manchester or Edinburgh. Details and application forms can be obtained via a number of Internet sites:

WimPen have spoken to two Notaries in the UK who are prepared to obtain the NIE number at an approximate cost of £290 per couple.

New Bar Terrace Sun Blind which is electrically operated.
Side panels to be fitted soon.

All of the two bedroomed villas at the resort now have a bathroom and en-suite shower room.

Each villa has a Television providing BBC1, BBC2 & ITV plus other satellite channels including Sky Sports.

The programme of replacing the wooden framed windows with aluminium is well underway and this year a number of kitchen & bedroom windows are to be replaced plus some fronts doors.

Dear Owners,

Just a few lines to thank all of you who could not attend the AGM for sending their proxy votes.

Before the Meeting was opened, I had to advise that one of the committee members Mr Keith Barker had recently passed away and also a long time supporter of Las Rosas Mr Gerald Waters, - our condolences to both Christine & June.
An interesting day on the 25th June, with some 50 plus owners represented from the Timeshare, unfortunately Ivan Pengelly, Managing Director of WimPen Leisure (The Administrators) was unable to attend as he is wheel chair bound recovering from a broken leg – (get well soon)
The morning meeting was constructive and a pleasure to chair, and I thank those for their support in re-electing me for another year. I will do my best to represent your interests in both the Timeshare Community and within the Development Owners Association.
Sue Hollidge was also elected as Vice President for 1 year and WimPen with a 3-year contract.
The meeting closed at 12.30pm.

Since the meeting I have received calls from owners asking about the outcome of the Association meeting.
The afternoon meeting started at 2.00 and I can confirm that:
The renewal of the Friends of Las Rosas Web site was rejected.
The issue concerning reimbursement of IGIC was rejected.
WimPen were re-elected with a 3-year contract.
Mr Bainbridge was re-elected as President for I year
Mr Maurice Woods has been co-opted onto the Association President´s Committee.
The Bar franchisee is to be offered a 3 year contract.
Plans put forward by the franchisee for retractable screening around the bar area at his expense were accepted. Good news for those that holiday in the winter period.
There was some wrangling however the meeting was closed at 7.30pm.

During the annual closedown of the resort various works have been carried out including :-

Emptying of the pool and re-grouting cleaning of the pool surround – refurbishment of the poolside umbrellas.

A new wrought iron balustrade has been installed along the edge of the bar / pool area.

A company has been found who are prepared to manufacture furniture of the same style as the original and four villas have now been refurbished.

A further 3 villas are to be refurbished this year 2004.

New fire retardant curtains and tie backs have been fitted.

Microwaves Ovens have been purchased and installed in all Timeshare Villas

And a programme of renewal of the Kitchen units is underway.

Programme of replacing Lounge Patio doors with Aluminium will be completed this year with the final 32 villas to be completed by August.

Seen here in action, some of the staff at Las Rosas have enrolled on an intensive fifty hour life saving course.

**Please be advised that there is some building work being carried out in the surrounding area which may effect some of the villas.

• Special overnight accommodation prices have been negotiated at £35 per person including breakfast.

Last Year was very poorly attended we hope for a record turn-out this year !! .
All owners are invited to attend.
